BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man is facing a battery charge after he allegedly kicked his wife’s rear end his when she accused him of cheating. It happened in Century Village in West Boca.

According to a police report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, a 55-year-old woman — much younger than the average Century Village resident — “checked the cell phone of her husband of less than one year and found out that he was cheating on her with another woman. She confronted David Sturgis, her husband, and he became angry and struck her on the right arm and kicked her multiple times on her legs and buttocks.”

Sturgis, according to the police report, “grabbed all of the victim’s belongings and threw them out of the apartment. The victim then proceeded to call 9-1-1. While speaking with the victim, I (the Deputy) observed a black bruise on her right arm consistent with her statement.”

Mr. Sturgis advised the following to police: “he and his wife of less than one year were involved in an argument because she believed he was cheating on her. The altercation was verbal and never became physical, as he only packed her belongings and moved them to her vehicle. The defendant did not have any marks that indicated physical violence.”

David Sturgis was arrested and charged with simple battery. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on his own recognizance. A court date is pending.
