We’ve Been Accused Of Everything Following Yesterday’s Article About A Delray Beach HOA Meeting.

Seriously

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — In the day since we posted the article about a woman spending 10 minutes during an HOA Meeting complaining that Mexican food is being served in the community’s private restaurant, we’ve been accused of several things.

We’ve been accused of using the term ”New Yorkers” as code for ”Jewish.” We’ve been accused of being Antisemitic. We’ve been accused of being pro-Mexican food (seriously). And we’ve been accused of instigating hate by reporting on the incident.

In order: We used the term “New Yorkers” to accurately describe what seems to be thousands of obnoxious New Yorkers — of all religions — who moved to South Florida over the past few years and only complain about South Florida. This does not include the tens of thousands of New Yorkers who are perfectly lovely and valuable members of the community. If you think the term ”New Yorkers” is derogatory, we suggest listening to an old Michael Jackson hit. It’s called ”Man In The Mirror.”

We are not Antisemitic. BocaNewsNow.com is a Jewish-run operation. We are Anti-Elite, Anti-Obnoxious, and Anti-Unintelligent-By-Choice. We’re really Anti-People-Who-Bought-A-House-Believing-Their-HOA-Dues-Would-Never-Rise-And-Complain-Incessantly-Because-It-Costs-Money-To-Live. But we are absolutely not Antisemitic. To those of our readers who wrote that, we find it sad that you equate certain bad behavior to a specific religion.

As for being ”pro-Mexican food.” Yes. We enjoy Quesadillas, Nachos, and similar dishes from time to time. We’re also pro-Italian food, pro-Thai food, and pro-American food.

As for inciting hate. We didn’t and we don’t. We report facts. If those facts reveal the biases of people being reported on, so be it. Facts are facts.

For those of you just tuning in, we reported this story yesterday. A woman spent a significant amount of time at an HOA board meeting this week complaining that the community’s restaurant served Mexican food as part of a Mother’s Day buffet and then again on Cinco de Mayo (which we note is a Mexican holiday). The woman made the following comments: ”Why Mexican food?! Many don’t like it. It doesn’t sit well in my stomach.”

She also added: ”Who the hell wants this Mexican food? No one eats this Mexican junk.”

For those of you who did relocate from New York and are making South Florida better, we thank you. For those of you who just like to complain, BocaNewsNow.com just wants to remind you that you don’t always have to verbalize the little voice in your head. When you do, we might report on what you say.
