UPDATE: The death count has risen to 18 students and one teacher.

UVALDE, TEXAS — At least fourteen students and a teacher are dead in a mass school shooting at Robb Elementary School.

Texas Governor Gregg Abbott confirmed the deaths and identified the suspect as Salvador Ramos, a student at a nearby high school. Ramos, according to Abbott, is also dead.

Governor Abbott said Ramos had a handgun and a rifle. Another 15 students are reportedly being treated for wounds.

The shooting comes four years after the massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. That shooting left 17 dead.

Ramos, according to reports, shot his grandmother before traveling to the school and opening fire.
