First Public Memorial Day Ceremony At Palm Beach County Cemetery Since 2019.

The United States Department of Veterans Affairs shared this announcement with BocaNewsNow.com lat Tuesday afternoon:
The Department of Veterans Affairs South Florida National Cemetery will host a solemn Memorial Day wreath laying ceremony, accompanied by speeches, a moment of silence, andthe playing of Taps. This will be the first public Memorial Day ceremony at our cemetery since 2019.
The ceremony is organized by the Palm Beach County Veterans Committee and supported by the Palm Beach and Miami VA Medical and Health Care Centers.
VA operates 155 National Cemeteries and 34 Soldiers’ lots and monument sites in 44 states and Puerto Rico. More than 5 million Americans, including Veterans of every war and conflict, are buried in VA cemeteries. Fulfilling President Lincoln’s call “to care for him who shall have borne the battle,” VA also provides headstones, markers or medallions for Veterans buried in state, territorial and tribal Veteran’s cemeteries or interred in private cemeteries.
Special Instructions: While this will be an outdoor event, all attendees are encouraged to adhere to CDC guidelines, wear masks and maintain physical distancing from other attendees to limit transmission of COVID-19.
National Cemeteries are Federal property, no weapons are permitted on premises, to include those with concealed carry permits.
PARKING:
Parking will be in the Target Parking lot North of the cemetery, 5900 State Road 7, starting at 8:00 am. No parking along State Road 7 or inside the cemetery.
Busses from the Veterans Administration will transport guests to the cemetery and returnthem to their vehicles following the ceremony. Please arrive prior to 9:30 as the ceremony begins promptly at 10:00.
