BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man was killed by a train overnight south of Boca Raton. Now, roads are closed in the area of the crash leading to significant traffic challenges Wednesday morning.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office issued this statement before sunrise:

At approximately 2:54 a.m., Broward Regional Communications received a call about a train versus pedestrian crash near the 100 block of South Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded.

One adult was pronounced deceased on scene. Crime scene and homicide detectives were notified and are investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. At this time, traffic is closed along Atlantic Boulevard at Dixie Highway until further notice. Motorists are asked to seek alternate routes.
