DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Anyone who believes that some in the West Delray Beach community of Seven Bridges are dimly lit wouldn’t be incorrect Tuesday morning. A woman apparently drove into a light post, knocking it down. The woman seems to be fine. The light post was pronounced dead at the scene.

How the crash happened remains unclear. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene and is investigating. It appears the woman — dressed in spandex and wearing AirPods — managed to lose control of her vehicle on a completely straight stretch of road on a perfectly clear day. There is no indication that the lamp post jumped out in front of her vehicle. There is no indication that she was wearing AirPods at the time of the crash.

The crash occurred on Cabernet Drive which is a straight, single lane road that runs through half of the large Seven Bridges community. Cabernet connects many of the streets with homes seized by the federal government as part of the multiple federal felony convictions that have befallen several homeowners in Seven Bridges which is barely six years old.

No word yet if charges will be filed as a result of the Tuesday morning crash. As the community is “private,” law enforcement has somewhat limited powers when it comes to property damage incidents.
