BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A massive fireworks display is set for South County Regional Park on July 4th. While the City of Boca Raton offers its own firework presentation, the South County Park display is for residents who have a ”Boca Raton” address but really live in unincorporated Palm Beach County. That is roughly anyone living west of Jog Road.

Here is the information released by Palm Beach County Parks and Rec:

The Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department and The West Boca Community Council will host a 4th of July Drive-in Fireworks Display at Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park, Boca Raton.​

The drive-in firework display will be located at Sunset Lake in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park at 11200 Park Access Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33498. The fireworks display will begin at 9:00 p.m. Sunset Cove Amphitheater overflow parking lot gates will open at 7:00 p.m. to allow attendees to park for viewing. Access to overflow parking lot viewing areas will be restricted at 8:30 p.m.

Overflow parking lots open at 7:00 p.m.

Patrons should arrive prior to 8:30 p.m. for access to designated viewing parking lots. 

Fireworks at 9:00 p.m.

Road Closures

Regional Park Dr. will be partially closed to incoming park traffic at 8:30 p.m. from Glades Rd. to Park Access Rd. through the conclusion of the fireworks display at  9:15 p.m. Parking is limited and residents are encouraged to find alternate locations to view the fireworks, while practicing social distancing.

What is happening at the event? 

A free of charge fireworks display. Fireworks display will begin at 9:00 p.m.

Do I have to remain in my car during the event? 

No. Patrons are permitted to exit their vehicle to enjoy the event. ​​

Where is the fireworks display shot from?

Sunset Lake, which is located right next to Sunset Cove Amphitheater in Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park. 

Will Sunset Lake be open?

Sunset Lake will be closed to the public at 4:00 p.m. in preparation for the fireworks display.

Will there be music playing during the fireworks display?

Fireworks display music will be broadcast via an on-site transmitter with a one-mile radius.

Where can I park?

Access to Park common areas will be open during normal park operating times for patrons who arrive early. Sunset Cove Amphitheater overflow parking lot gates will open at 7:00 p.m. to allow attendees to park for viewing. Overflow lot parking is limited.

What time do streets close? 

Regional Park Dr. will be partially closed to incoming park traffic at 8:30 p.m. from Glades Rd. to Park Access Rd. through the conclusion of the fireworks display at  9:15 p.m.

Will restrooms be available? 

Park public restrooms will remain open during normal park operating times & throughout the event. Additional portable toilets will be available in the overflow parking lots.

Where are the trash receptacles? 

Please do your part to reduce your footprint and keep the park clean by removing all trash you bring into the park with you as you leave. Garbage and recycling receptacles are also available throughout the park.

Can I sit by the lake? 

Yes. The park itself will be opened, but the amphitheater will be closed. ​

Can I bring a tent or canopy? 

Use of canopies is permitted. Use of weights rather than stakes is encouraged.

Can I bring a barbeque grill? 

Barbeque grills are available in the park on a first-come, first-served basis; additional grills are not permitted. Patrons are encouraged to bring picnic baskets.

Can I bring alcohol to the event? 

Consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted in designated picnic areas only.

Can I bring my pet? 

Domesticated animals are allowed on park property. Said animals must be restrained at all times at a distance not greater than six feet in length from their handler.

Can I bring fireworks? 

No firecrackers, torpedoes, rockets, or other fireworks or explosives of flammable material on park property.

Can I fly a Drone at the event? 

Drones are not permitted at this event.

What if it rains? 

This event is “rain or shine” event. In the event of inclement weather, staff may make a decision on-site to initiate the fireworks display earlier or later to adjust to intermittent weather.
