UPDATE: Suspect In Broward Shooting Arrested In Boca Raton After Chase From Miami

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A suspect wanted for a shooting in Broward County was found this evening in Miami. That suspect then led police on a chase through Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach County. The pursuit ended near I-95 and Congress Avenue.

The Broward County Sheriff’s Office, which is responsible for the original shooting investigation, issued this statement around 10:30 Saturday night:

OFFICIAL POLICE STATEMENT:

Shortly after 6 p.m. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to a shooting call near the 4000 block of Southwest 18th Street in West Park. On scene, deputies located an adult female that was shot. Paramedics transported the victim to an area hospital to be treated for life threatening injuries. Crime scene and special victims unit detectives were contacted, and responded to the scene to investigate. 

A short time later, Miami-Dade Police Department located the subject in their city and a pursuit ensued on Interstate 95 northbound. The subject continued north through Broward County and into Palm Beach County. At approximately 7:53 p.m., the subject was taken into custody on Interstate 95 at Congress Avenue. The investigation continues.
