BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boynton Beach Police arrested two juveniles Monday after officers heard gunfire and eventually trailed the suspects to Riviera Beach.

The Boynton Beach Police Department issued this advisory with official details.

OFFICIAL BOYNTON BEACH POLICE ADVISORY

On July 11th 2022 at approximately 1258 am, BBPD Officers were in the area of NE 4th St and Circle Drive S when they heard multiple gunshots.  While checking the area, an Officer was approached by an individual in the 400 block of NE 17th Ave.  This individual (victim) reported he had observed several individuals trying to enter vehicles.  The victim followed the suspects who left the area in a black Nissan Versa in an effort to get the vehicles license plate to provide to police.  The victim was able to locate the Nissan.  As the victim was gathering the vehicle information, the suspect vehicle sped up and pulled onto Circle Dr S, coming to a stop. The victim then drove passed the stopped Nissan and as he did, two males were standing outside of the black Nissan and began shooting at him, striking his vehicle multiples times.

BBPD Officers later located the black Nissan that shot at the victim.  Officers tried to conduct a traffic stop on the Nissan which fled from them.  BBPD Officers pursued the Nissan to a residence in Riviera Beach and two male occupants got out of the vehicle and entered the home.  With the assistance of Riviera Beach PD, Officers set up a perimeter on the residence which ultimately led to two juvenile males coming outside of the house and surrendering to police.  After a search of the Riviera Beach residence two stolen handguns were recovered.  Interviews of the two juveniles removed from the Riviera Beach home and further investigation by BBPD resulted in the charging of Zande Reed with aggravated assault with a firearm pursuant to FSS 784.21.1A, shooting into an occupied vehicle pursuant to FSS 790.19, fleeing and eluding a Police Officer pursuant to FSS 316.1935.1, and resisting arrest without violence pursuant to FSS 843.02. Two other juveniles were also charged with misdemeanor loitering and prowling and therefore their names are exempt from release.

At this time there is no information linking these individuals to the shootings that took place in Boynton Beach on June 26th, 27th and July 4th.    All the shootings remain active cases and are being worked by the department’s Detective Bureau.
