DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 32-year-old man from Lake Worth inexplicably stopped his SUV on I-95 southbound, just south of Linton Boulevard this morning around 5:15. That’s when a tractor trailer, unable to stop, plowed into the SUV which ignited.

There was apparently no way out. The unidentified victim died in the burning SUV before rescuers could arrive on the scene. The tractor trailer driver, 49, sustained minor injuries.

Firefighters and rescuers rushed to the crash location in heavy early morning traffic. Ambulances which were dispatched were ultimately canceled — there was nothing they could do to help the SUV driver who was already dead. I-95 was closed for several hours in the area of Congress. Traffic, eventually forced off of I-95 at Linton, backed up all the way to Boynton Beach Boulevard.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Names have not been release pending notification of next of kin.
