BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman apparently told police that she stole several tools from Home Depot on Glades Road in Boca Raton so that she could sell them and buy drugs. Jill Ratsek of Rural Lane in Boca Raton is now facing a larceny charge.

This is the narrative written by the arrested Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputy:

POLICE NARRATIVE.

I responded to Home Depot located at 9820 Glades Rd 7 Boca Raton, FL. The nature of this call was a unknown white female (later identified as Jill Ratsek) who was observed entering Home Depot via the Main Entrance. The subject proceeded to the Hardware Department where she selected X1 Milwaukee M18 Impact Wrench, valued at $219.00, The subject then proceeded towards the back of the store where she concealed the item into her large purse. The subject then went back to the front of the Hardware Department where she selected X2 Milwaukee M18 Fuel Multi Tool, valued at $229.00 each.

The subject then proceeded towards the back of the store where she also concealed those two items into the large purse as well. I then observed the subject head toward the Garden Department where she selected a Coke product and paid for only the coke, disregarding to present or render payment for the concealed items in her purse. Once the subject passed all points of sale and exited the store the subject was apprehended. Home Depot does not authorize any subject to leave with unpaid merchandise. Home Depot would like to prosecute.

I then made contact with Jill Ratsek who utterly stated, “I took the items to sell it and buy drugs.” I then read Jill her Miranda rights and Jill stated, “I refused to say anything else.” Based on my investigation, Defendant Jill Ratsek passed all points of sales; failing to render payment for the merchandise with a total of $677.00 dollars. The Defendant Jill Ratsek is being charged with retail theft pursuant to F. S. 812.015(1D). Jill was searched and placed in a marked PBSO vehicle. Jill was transported to the county jail.

AFTER THE ARREST

Ratsek was arrested on Monday. She remains in the Palm Beach County Thursday morning. There was apparently an active warrant for her arrest out of another county.
