BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — It’s going to be extremely hot this weekend across South Florida, with the National Weather Service saying the heat index in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach will hit 100 on Sunday.

The forecast is calling for a slight chance of thunderstorms before 1 p.m. on Saturday, then a chance of thunderstorms and shower after 2 p.m. Expect a high on Saturday of 90. The low Saturday night is expected to drop only to 70 degrees.

On Sunday, expect a high of 91 degrees with “heat index values as high as 100,” according to the National Weather Service. Winds will blow 9 to 14 mph out of the east with gusts as high as 20 mph. There will be a 20-percent chance of thunderstorms on Sunday.

The week ahead will be hot and humid, with highs in the 90s each day with a chance of thunderstorms.
