BOCA RATON, FL ( (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Public school students in Palm Beach County return to school on Wednesday, but buses are now on the roads — practicing routes. We remind our readers that many of the Palm Beach County school bus drivers this time of year are often still getting a feel for their bus and how it handles. Give them space.

Area police departments are also now reminding drivers that officers will be out en masse this week monitoring school zones and issuing tickets. Slowing for a school zone is not optional. Tickets can run several hundred dollars.

While public school starts on Wednesday, private schools in Palm Beach County start later in the month.

St. Andrews in Boca Raton starts on August 17th. Pine Crest School in Boca Raton starts on August 19th and August 22nd, depending on grade. And American Heritage in Delray Beach starts on August 31st.
