MASSIVE DIESEL FUEL SPILL… EXPECT TRAFFIC PROBLEMS FOR HOURS.

UPDATE: 8:35 a.m. — Palm Beach County Fire Rescue provided BocaNewsNow.com with the following statement: “At approximately 7:30 this morning, PBCFR Units were dispatched to the intersection of Concord Green and Glades Road in western Boca Raton for a Car Accident. Initial arriving units found a 2 vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler and an automobile. One person was transported by ground to a local trauma center. The 18 wheeler was found to be leaking a large amount of diesel fuel. The leak was contained by PBCFR. The nearby waterway was not affected by the spill. However, the contaminated soil in the adjacent area will need to be removed. The DOT and DEP were notified. PBCFR has turned the scene over to PBSO and is clearing the scene. Eastbound lanes on Glades from Lyons to Concord will be closed to traffic until the issue is mitigated. The roadway will more than likely remain closed for the next 1-2 hours”
UPDATE: 8:21 a.m. — Eastbound is shut but one westbound lane is now opening.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — DEVELOPING AT 7:45 a.m. — A serious crash involving a tractor trailer has shut down Glades Road in the area of Lyons. The actual crash location is Glades and Concord Green.
All traffic is being halted on Glades Road on both sides of Concord Green. Eastbound traffic is being held at Lyons Road. Westbound traffic is being held at or before the Turnpike on/off ramp.
We are awaiting word on injuries. We do know the tractor trailer continued to drive following the crash but eventually pulled over. Damage to the truck is said to be severe.
