BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Palm Beach County School District student will be officially expelled from the school district on Wednesday. The student was found with a meat cleaver on school grounds.
BocaNewsNow.com obtained a document showing that the school board intends to vote on the matter privately before the regularly scheduled public meeting on September 21st. The incident, which occurred at an undisclosed school, took place on February 2, 2022.
Palm Beach County Schools Chief of Equity and Wellness, Keith Oswald, wrote this in the order to be approved: “On February 2, 2022 Respondent was in possession of a weapon (meat clever). I further recommend the Final Order be adopted and entered by the School Board.”
The expulsion will span one year. Palm Beach County often lets students enroll in alternate education programs during an expulsion — including Florida’s free virtual academy.
