BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman is facing a DUI charge after she crashed her white BMW into another car on the top floor of the Mizner Park garage at 327 Plaza Real.
In an arrest report reviewed by BocaNewsNow.com, Anisleisys Vazquez was apparently detained by Mizner Park security in the moments after the incident. Security called Boca Raton Police. An investigating officer documented part of the investigation with this language:
“I attempted to ask Vazquez questions as to the crash, however, she indicated she had no idea what happened or how she got there. While speaking with Vazquez I was able to observe the overwhelming odor of alcohol emanating from her breath as well as bloodshot/watery eyes. Vazquez’s speech pattern was extremely slurred and slow.”
Boca PD conducted a field sobriety test, which — according to the arrest report — did not go well for Vazquez. Among the observations made by police:
“Walk and Turn: The surface was flat and hard. The defendant attempted to do the exercise with shoes.
The line used was a painted black line. I made sure the defendant both knew the line she would be using and the color of that line. I began the exercise by instructing and demonstrating to the defendant how to complete the exercise. While giving instructions the defendant lost balance several times and failed to stay in the starting position. In conducting the exercise, the defendant walked an improper number of steps, made an improper turn, failed to walk Heal-to-Toe, walked off the line, and began before being instructed. The defendant continued to sway and was extremely unsteady.
One Leg Stand: The surface was flat and hard. The defendant attempted to do the exercise with shoes. The defendant raised her right leg. During the exercise, the defendant continued to sway and was only able to hold her leg up for approximately 2 seconds. At one point during the exercise the defendant was so unsteady she almost fell over and I had to terminate the exercise.”
Vazquez, 30, refused to provide a breath sample which led to an immediate license suspension. She was arrested and charged with DUI. Her residential address is listed as the 5700 block of Arbor Club Way in Boca Raton.
