DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man is in jail Tuesday morning, nearly a month after he allegedly held his 75-year-old mother at knifepoint, then fled on a bike.

Michael Bouchard of the 13900 block of Nesting Way in Delray Beach was taken into custody on Sunday by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. He remains held on $44,000 bond.

This is the police narrative of the alleged incident, obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.

I responded to 13941 Nesting Way unit B, unincorporated Delray Beach, FL in reference to an Armed Domestic Dispute. While enroute, Deputies Iearned that the suspect, Michael Bouchard had left the residence on a bicycle. Upon arrival, I met with the 75-year-old victim who stated the following: Her son, Michael Bouchard, was sleeping on the couch in her residence when she asked him for the keys to the Jeep. Michael refused to give her the keys and they began to argue. Michael became irate and picked up a large silver and black kitchen knife and held it to the right side of his neck. (The victim could not remember which hand he held the knife with.) Michael then pointed the knife at his mother and chased her from the residence. She ran to her vehicle in fear of being stabbed. She stated she thought she had locked her vehicle, but Michael was able to open the door and a physical altercation ensued. During the altercation, Michael bit his mother on the left upper arm.

Michael then fled the scene on his bicycle. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded and treated the victim for the bite. There was a red/blue mark on the arm, but the bite did not break the skin.

I photographed the victim, her injuries, and the knife used by Michael. All of those photographs were placed into PBSO Evidence. It should be noted, I also photographed bruises from another domestic battery in which his mother is a victim and Michael is the suspect.

Bouchard was arrested on Sunday and charged with: aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without the intent to kill; battery on a person 65 years of age or older; and two counts of failure to appear (in court) from previous incidents.
