BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman seeking police assistance ended up being arrested herself.

Carla Pollard of the 1300 block of Sycamore Terrace in Boca Raton apparently didn’t like that the man she was with was smoking. So when he lit a cigarette, she knocked it from his mouth. He responded by “back handing” her arm. When he lit a second, she did it again. This time, he pushed her shoulder. Pollard called Boca Raton Police and a responding officer filed the following report, obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.

“She admitted to hitting the cigarette out of his mouth which resulted in him back handing her forearm with his left hand. He then stood up and attempted to light another cigarette. She stated she then hit the cigarette from his mouth again which he responded by pushing her left shoulder with his right hand. She then called law enforcement.

It should be noted that I did not observe any marks or redness on her person She had a quarter-sized blood stain on her shirt, but we could not determine where the blood came from. Medical treatment was refused.

I then spoke to the victim who appeared to be intoxicated and uncooperative. He originally denied anything physical taking place and only stated a verbal argument occurred. After several attempts to get the story, he confirmed that she hit a cigarette from his mouth but denies ever hitting or touching her. I observed two small cuts to his right cheek which he stated was from a previous work incident. Other than the marks on his cheeks, I did not observe any marks or redness to his person. Medical treatment was also refused.

Based on my investigation and the totality of circumstances, I determined Carla Pollard to be the primary aggressor and developed probable cause per FSS 784.03 (1A1) Domestic Battery, after she hit a cigarette from the victim’s mouth.”

Carla Pollard was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on October 16th around 10 p.m. She was released on her own recognizance at 3:20 p.m. on October 17th.
