BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A crash around noon Friday near the entrance to Woodfield Country Club led to the arrest of a Boca Raton woman who told police she “had a sip of wine” hours before the alleged incident. By the time the investigation was complete, Gleyce Conti of Royal Palm Way in Boca Raton would be charged with DUI, after police say her breath alcohol content was more than twice the legal limit.

According to a police report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Conti was involved in a hit-and-run crash in the area of 7800 Clint Moore Road and Woodfield Circle. Police say she was driving a 2012 Maroon Nissan Altima at the time of the crash. She apparently made it all the way to the 300 block of West Jeffrey Street — in East Boca Raton — when she was stopped by Boca Raton Police.

One of the investigating officers documented this in the official report:

“I asked Conti where she was coming from, and she stated that she was coming from Boca Raton. Conti advised that she had a sip of wine today. While speaking with Conti I could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from her person, her eyes were glossy, and she was slurring her speech.

Based on my observations I asked Conti if she would submit to Standard Field Sobriety Tasks (SFST) to dispel my alarm that she was under the influence. Conti stated she would submit to the roadside sobriety tasks.”

According to police, Conti had issues completing the field sobriety tests. Breath samples obtained from Conti yielded results of .187 and .201. The legal limit in Florida is .08

Gleyce Conti was arrested and charged with DUI with property damage and leaving the scene of an accident. She was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on her own recognizance.
