BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — An unidentified Boca Raton teenager was killed Thursday night in a crash with a car on U.S. 441 in West Boca Raton.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says the male victim, 17 years old, was attempting to cross U.S. 441/SR 7 in the area of Spanish Isles Blvd. He was attempting to cross, according to investigators, in an area where is NOT a marked crosswalk. He was apparently trying to cross from west to east.
As the teen crossed the road, a woman in a 2015 Kia Optima — traveling northbound — struck the teen while he rode his bicycle across the street. The impact caused the teen to be thrown onto the hood and windshield of the vehicle before police say he was “vaulted” into the air.
The teen landed on the roadway north of the point of impact and came to final rest within the inside northbound lane of South State Road 7. He was pronounced dead a short time later.
