BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A body was found floating in a canal in the area of the Coconut Creek Parkway exit to the Florida Turnpike. The body was found around 8:30 Tuesday morning by a fiber optics worker laying cable in the area.
Florida Highway Patrol says the body was found in a canal that is adjacent to th turnpike on the right shoulder.
“The deceased is believed to be have been in the water for over 48 hours,” said FHP in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com. “The deceased is a white male with an unknown age. The Broward Sheriff’s Office dive team removed the body from the canal (and) the Medical Examiner’s office took possession of the body for autopsy.”

Florida Highway Patrol is the lead agency as the body was found on land adjacent to the Turnpike. FHP’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations is overseeing the investigation.
