TWO CLOSURES SET FOR NEXT WEEK.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Two major closures are now set for I-95 next week. The first will occur Sunday night into Monday. The second will be Tuesday night into Wednesday.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation, the closure will block I-95 northbound at Glades Road, forcing all traffic off at Glades Road and routing it out to Federal Highway, north to Yamato Road, then back to I-95. Florida Highway Patrol will be on the scene to assist confused motorists. Expect lane blockage to start before 11 p.m. each night, and then wrap up — in theory — by 5 a.m.
The closures are part of the continued I-95 expansion project as well as the reconfiguration of Glades Road at the Interstate. Overhead signs will be hung during the closures — cars can not pass underneath. Glades Road, as we’ve reported, is being reconfigured into a diamond. Traffic will actually be shifted to lanes that many may find confusing once the system starts early next year. Already, signs facing in opposite directions are leading motorists to believe they were hung incorrectly.
Once the diamond system starts, traffic moving east will actually be in lanes currently used for heading west, while traffic heading west will shift to lanes currently used for traffic heading east. Seriously.
