BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Don’t worry if you see lots of rescue activity around Ocean Inlet Park this afternoon. Boynton Beach Fire Rescue just told BocaNewsnow that a major training exercise will be underway — starting around 1 p.m. The exact address is 6990 North Ocean Blvd. in Boynton Beach. Expect the training to last two hours or so.

According to Fire Rescue, “this multi-agency collaboration will simulate the rescue of a victim from dangerous fast-moving water and serve as an opportunity for all agencies to collaborate on future drills and lifesaving scenarios at the Boynton Beach Inlet and Park.”

This training, coordinated by PBC Ocean Rescue, is for the Training Officers Academy through the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA). The USLA is a nonprofit professional association of beach lifeguards and open-water rescuers that work to reduce the incidence of death and injury in the aquatic environment through public education, national lifeguard standards, training programs, and more.
