BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2022 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — DEVELOPING STORY — FACTS MAY CHANGE — A woman allegedly firing a gun from a vehicle on the Florida Turnpike ended up critically injured in a car crash on Montoya Circle in Boca Raton. The crash — which became a rollover incident — trapped a man under another vehicle. It’s unclear if the injured man was the target of the woman firing a gun.

It all started around 11 a.m. on the Turnpike. What appears to be a chase of some sort ended up on Montoya Circle where the crash occurred. The woman — again, allegedly firing a gun on the Turnpike — ended up being knocked unconscious in the wreck and was airlifted via Trauma Hawk to Delray Medical Center. Sources familiar with the investigation say the woman is in her early 20s.

The area of Montoya Circle is just south of Palmetto Park Road remained a crime scene into the afternoon. It was not immediately clear what happened — between the Turnpike and Montoya Circle — between the occupants of the two vehicles.

We are awaiting an update from PBSO and FHP. We will advance this report as soon as new information is received.
