BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you were so inclined to take a song from Fiddler on The Roof and turn it into a Boca Raton traffic report, we keep thinking: “Tonight, Tonight, No Drivin… No Drivin, No Drivin…Tonight…” It’s the same song, over and over again, in Boca Raton.

The Florida Department of Transportation is set to shut down I-95 northbound this evening as the ongoing Diverging Diamond Interchange, and express lane construction, continue. Wednesday’s work is focused on sign installation.

This is the official FDOT advisory: “I-95 Northbound Full Closure Notice: All I-95 northbound lanes at SR-808/Glades Road will be closed to traffic overnight, Wednesday, Jan. 4 for overhead sign structure installation. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. each morning. Traffic will be detoured via the northbound exit ramp to SR-808/Glades Road, US-1/Federal Highway and SR-794/Yamato Road. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists. Thursday, Jan. 5 will be used as a contingency night if needed.”

On January 11th, expect Southbound I-95 to be shut for similar work. FDOT also issued this advanced advisory: “I-95 Southbound Full Closure Advanced Notice: All I-95 southbound lanes at Congress Avenue will be closed to traffic overnight, Wednesday night, Jan. 11 for overhead sign structure installation. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to Peninsula Corp Drive/Congress Avenue, and SR-794/Yamato Road to the I-95 southbound entrance ramp. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists. Thursday, Jan. 12 will be used as a contingency night if needed.”
