BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton man arrested in 2021 for allegedly pushing a young child at St. Joan of Arc school during a Halloween party — only to have the charge later dropped — was just arrested for child neglect.

Boca Raton Police arrested David Morrison of the 700 block of SW 15th Street in Boca Raton and charged him with both DUI and Child Neglect. Police arrested Morrison late Monday night. The arrest report was still being processed early Tuesday morning.

While the specifics of the latest arrest are unclear, Morrison’s previous arrest followed a high-profile incident at St. Joan of Arc in Boca Raton. As we reported at the time concerning the Halloween party where the alleged incident occurred:

The annual Halloween party at St. Joan of Arc on October 29th was chaos — as most elementary school parties tend to be. During the event, David Morrison’s young daughter was hit by a boy in a dinosaur costume. She fell to the ground. As parents do, Morrison reacted by trying to help and comfort his daughter while also stopping the dinosaur-clad child from hurting other kids.

Police wrote this in the official 2021 report: “A lot of children were grabbing the tail (of the boy in the dinosaur costume). Due to an unknown child grabbing his tail, (the boy) turned around and accidentally hit a little girl in the face which caused her to fall down. (The boy said) that David came up to him and started to yell at him about intentionally hitting the little girl in the face. David started to curse and yell at the boy to take off his costume. (The boy claimed) that while he was trying to unzip his costume, David was grabbing his costume as well trying to get it off of him. Once the costume was pulled down, David then grabbed both of his shoulders and squeezed them very tight and pulled him asking where his parents were.”

Morrison’s latest arrest took place Monday evening. He was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 10:10 p.m. Bond was not listed in the official record as of 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
