BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton real estate agent allegedly attempted to drive into an area of Glades Road that was blocked off due to a car crash. Linda Petrakis is now facing a DUI charge.

According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s office, Petrakis turned left from Jog Road into an area marked off by flares and multiple police cars around 11 p.m. Wednesday night. PBSO Deputies stopped Petrakis and initiated DUI protocols. Police documented that Petrakis had “red, watery, bloodshot eyes” and she “fumbled through her purse.” The police report states that she handed a Deputy her medical insurance card when she was asked to provide her registration.

Petrakis, according to the arrest report, had issues with multiple field sobriety tests. She allegedly acknowledged having “one glass of wine” and thought she was at the intersection of Palmetto Park Road and Powerline, even though she was at Glades and Jog.

After the field tests, Petrakis was transported to a testing facility where she allegedly provided samples registering a breath alcohol content of .132 and .134. The legal limit in Florida is .08. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office charged Petrakis with DUI and refusing to accept a citation.

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation reports that Petrakis holds an active real estate broker or sales license and lives in the 5700 block of Coach House Circle. BocaNewsNow.com reports on the arrests of licensed professionals who must comply with ethical, legal, and other professional standards. She was booked into jail and later released on her own recognizance. (An earlier version of this story reported the traffic stop was on Jog Road in Boynton Beach due to an address mismatch on the issued citations first filed with the Clerk of Courts).
