UPDATE at 2:46 p.m. — The balloon has apparently been shot down.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Air traffic along the east coast is being slowed and — in some cases halted — due to a “Homeland Security Operation” that is currently being planned.

It is believed the Chinese Spy Balloon will be shot down this afternoon. Airports in Wilmington, NC; Myrtle Beach; and Charleston, SC are now closed. Air traffic appears be slowed at other airports. Departures at Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach are now show delays, although the “official” reason is “thunderstorms” in the area.
