BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Former Miami Dolphin Vontae Davis was arrested for DUI by Florida Highway Patrol Saturday morning.
The following is the narrative of the arrest issued by FHP:
“Vehicle-1, a black 2022 Tesla was driving southbound State Road 821 (Florida Turnpike) at mile post 45 in the inside lane. Vehicle-2, a bronze 2020 Toyota Tundra pickup truck was parked in the right shoulder disabled with a flat tire.
The driver of the Tesla is a former NFL player Vontae Ottis Davis, he drove onto the right shoulder and rear ended the Toyota Tundra. The Tundra rotated clockwise and while rotating struck pedestrian-1 owner of the Tundra and last known driver. Pedestrian was transported to Broward Regional Hospital with several injuries. Vehicle-1 and Vehicle-2 came to final rest on the right shoulder.
Mr. Davis was arrested for DUI after refusing field sobriety exercises and breath test. He was further taken to Broward Hospital as a precaution for injury.”
