BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A rushed response by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue professionals averted tragedy early Saturday morning when a toddler was pulled from a swimming pool in West Boca Raton. Rescuers performed CPR and saved the toddler’s life.
The toddler, believed to be two years old, was apparently found in the pool by its parents in the 20300 block of Monteverdi Circle. The street is in the community of Sonata at Mission Bay.
Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that Palm Beach County Fire Rescue received the call around 9:14 a.m. They were on-scene minutes later to find the child already out of the pool. CPR was administered and the child was revived. The child was already en route to West Boca Medical Center minutes later.
It was unclear how the child gained access to the swimming pool without its parents knowing. Pool fences and alarms are required in Palm Beach County, although pool alarms in homes are routinely deactivated or silenced by homeowners.
