UPDATE: 3:01 a.m. Wednesday, March 1: Palmetto Park Road was just reopened, according to Boca Raton Police.
UPDATE: 5:30 p.m. — The closure continues, and now the City of Boca Raton advises that traffic is increasing on Glades Road due to the closure of Palmetto Park Road. Expect a slow commute.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Part of Palmetto Park Road is closed as of 4 p.m. Tuesday as Boca Raton Police investigate a suspicious device at a residence along SW 5th Way.
No injuries have been reported and no evacuations are necessary. The road closure is precautionary.
There is no word as to when West Palmetto Park Road — in the 400-700 block — will be reopened. Motorists are encouraged to find an alternate route as the afternoon rush begins.
