BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Not only is the Diverging Diamond at Glades Road and I-95 not going to be completed this weekend as first announced by the Florida Department of Transporation, but I-95 is going to be closed for several nights in — and around — Boca Raton.

The intersection of Glades Road and I-95 was set to to be shut for the entire weekend as FDOT announced that the final work on the Diverging Diamond would be completed between last night (Friday) and Monday morning. But for reasons that are still unclear, that work was canceled. The complete closure of Glades Road at I-95 is now set to start on March 31st and continue through early Monday, April 3rd.

Now comes word that FDOT will close all northbound lanes of I-95 at Glades Road for several nights this coming week. Here is the official FDOT announcement:

“All I-95 northbound lanes at SR-808/Glades Road will be closed to traffic overnight, Sunday, March 26 through Thursday, March 30 for overhead sign structure installation. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. each morning. Traffic will be detoured via the northbound exit ramp to SR-808/Glades Road, US-1/Federal Highway and SR-794/Yamato Road. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists.”
