BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Weekend roadwork on I-95 southbound in Broward Count led to massive delays on Saturday, and Sunday is expected to be just as bad.

The work, in the area of Cypress Creek Road, is reducing the number of available lanes for travel. That’s leading to problems as drivers driving at high speeds suddenly have to slow — or stop — and merge into one, two, or three lanes, depending on what workers are doing at any given moment.
The delays, at times lasting half an hour to an hour, apparently led some to miss flights, arrive at events late, and generally be frustrated and annoyed that would is typically a fast weekend drive from South Palm Beach County to Broward or Miami-Dade was take significantly longer than expected.
The best alternate for motorists: The Florida Turnpike to any point south of the construction at Cypress Creek, then re-enter I-95 at Commerical Boulevard or further south.
