BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Reminder: Glades Road closes tonight (Friday) around 10 p.m. and will not reopen until 5 a.m. Monday morning. The complete closure affects both sides of I-95. Quite simply: you will not be able to cross I-95 on Glades Road in either direction. Not even a little bit. All ramps to and from I-95 at Glades Road will also be closed from Friday night until Monday morning.
This is supposed to be the final round of construction on the Diverging Diamond. If all goes as planned, Florida Department of Transportation contractors will work around the clock to finish whatever needs to be finished. By Monday morning, all barriers, cones, and construction equipment will be gone and the Diverging Diamond will be operating at full capacity.
While the Glades Road work will — in theory — be complete, I-95 construction will continue for quite some time.
Expect road periodic lane closures on I-95 to continue as express lane creation and roadway enhancement projects continue into the foreseeable future.
