DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The popular “Lady Delray” sightseeing yacht was damaged in a fire early Wednesday, according to the City of Delray Beach.
According to City of Delray Beach officials, a passerby called 9-1-1 around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday after noticing flames on the 90-foot yacht often rented by residents and visitors to the city. No one was aboard the vessel at the time, and there were no injuries from the fire, which caused extensive damage. It was docked in the Intracoastal at Veteran’s Park.
The Florida Bureau of Fire, Arson and Explosives responded and is now investigating with City of Delray Beach Fire officials. There is no evidence of foul play.
Lady Delray’s sister yacht, Lady Atlantic, which was docked nearby, sustained minor damage from radiant heat caused by the fire. There was no apparent environmental issue impacting the waterway. Learn more about Lady Delray and Lady Atlantic on the DelrayBeachCruises.com website.
