DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boynton Beach resident Virgilita Jackson is dead following a two car crash on Lake Ida Road in Delray Beach.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says Michael Lucido of Dawsonville, GA, was driving westbound on Lake Ida Road “beginning to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway in inclement weather,” as “Virgilita Jackson was eastbound on Lake Ida Road negotiating a left and curve in the roadway in inclement weather. While steering her Hyundai Elantra to the left, Jackson failed to maintain control of her Elantra. As Jackson lost traction, its rear began to rotate counter clockwise and the Elantra began to rotate counter clockwise. It entered the westbound travel lane.”

Lucido, in a Volvo XC60, was unable to get out of Jackson’s way. Her vehicle hit Lucido — injuring both Lucido and a female passenger. They were not critically injured.

Jackson, however, was pronounced dead on the scene following the impact.
