BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — I-95 in Boca Raton will close tonight, leading to another frustrating drive for motorists hoping to use the interstate in Boca Raton during the overnight hours. The closure will affect all southbound lanes.
According to the Florida Department of Transportation: “All I-95 southbound lanes at Yamato Road will be closed to traffic overnight, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Wednesday, May 3 for overhead sign structure operations. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m.
Traffic will be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR-794/Yamato Road, Jog Road and SR-808/Glades Road. FHP will be onsite to assist motorists. Thursday, May 4 will be used as a contingency night if needed.”
While the Diverging Diamond is largely complete at Glades and I-95, construction continues on express lanes and other road improvements for Interstate 95. Closures and detours on the stretch running through Boca Raton and Delray Beach are expected to continue for months.
