BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — I-95 is set to close overnight southbound in Boca Raton. Traffic will detoured through side streets as overhead sign installation continues. If you think that no one drives on I-95 overnight so this is no big deal, think again. Overnight I-95 closures, while somewhat routine, almost always lead to significant delays.
The Florida Department Of Transportation issued the following advisory. Weather should be acceptable overnight for work, so do expect that this will happen. The detour can be visualized through the official map, above.
All I-95 southbound lanes at SR-794/Yamato Road will be closed to traffic overnight, 11 p.m. until 5 a.m., Wednesday, June 7 and Thursday, June 8 for overhead sign structure operations. The first lane will close at 9 p.m., the second lane will close at 10 p.m., and all lanes will be closed by 11 p.m., reopening by 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via the I-95 southbound exit ramp to SR-794/Yamato Road, Jog Road and SR-808/Glades Road.
I-95 construction continues as express/HOV lanes are expanded, with the goal of creating express lanes that run almost entirely between West Palm Beach and the City of Miami.
