BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach teenager is dead after police say he crossed against a traffic light and into the path of an oncoming car in the area of Lyons Road and Boynton Beach Boulevard. It happened around 5 p.m. Wednesday.
A Ford Escape was traveling westbound on Boynton Beach Boulevard within the inside/left through lane. Blake Buchbinder, 13, on a bicycle, was riding northbound across Boynton Beach Boulevard on the west side of Lyons Road within the crosswalk. Buchbinder was crossing against the traffic signals as the vehicle traversed the intersection. The bicyclist traveled into the path of the vehicle; thus, a violent crash occurred. The left front of the vehicle impacted into the right side of the pedestrian/bicycle.

As the crash ensued, Buchbinder traveled onto the hood and into the windshield of the vehicle. Buchbinder traveled off the vehicle and impacted onto the pavement, where he came to his final rest position. The vehicle was brought to a controlled final rest position on the roadway, west of the area of impact.”
Buchbinder, according to police, lived in the 8000 block of Emerald Winds Circle in the Canyon Springs community of West Boynton Beach. A GoFundMe Page has been set up by his family.
