Simulation May Look Real, Scary. It’s Fine. Will Not Delay Flights.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A training exercise Friday evening at Palm Beach International Airport may look real, may sound real, may appear to be real, is most assuredly not real. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is warning anyone going to — or near — the airport to not be concerned about what you may see.
“PBSO in coordination with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue (PBC FR), the Palm Beach County Department of Airports (DOA) and Transportation Security Administration (TSA), will be conducting a full scale law enforcement exercise in the evening hours at the Palm Beach International Airport.
The exercise will be closed to the public and media. The exercise will not have any impact on flights, but the public may see emergency vehicles and an increased law enforcement presence and may hear noises simulating an actual emergency. “
PBSO made the announcement late Friday afternoon. It was not exactly clear what time the exercise would start, what time it would conclude, or where in or on airport grounds the event will occur.
