It happened in an area east of Congress and north of Gateway Blvd. Boynton Beach Police issued the following statement to BocaNewsNow.com.
The Boynton Beach Police Department is deeply saddened to announce the tragic loss of a 17-year-old individual who was shot to death while attending a sweet 16 birthday party, at 1200 Miner Road. On June 18th, at approximately 11:30 P.M. our department received a call regarding a shooting that just occurred. Officers immediately responded to the scene and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Bethesda hospital and pronounced deceased.
At this time, the identity of the suspect remains unknown. We are actively pursuing all available leads and conducting a thorough investigation of the crime scene. Our detectives are working tirelessly to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and explore any potential investigative leads in order to identify the responsible party.
We want to reassure the community that we consider this case to be of the utmost importance, and we are committed to bringing those responsible for the senseless murder of a child to justice.
