BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you’re going to be outside Wednesday, if your kids are going to be outside at camp, know this: there’s a heat advisory in effect until at least 7 p.m. It is going to be hot and feel exceptionally hot.
The National Weather Service says that while the official high temperature will hit 94 or so, it will feel like 110 degrees in many places across the region. Forecasters remind everyone to bring water, wear clothes that will help to keep you cool, and stay inside as much as possible. This is the official advisory from the national Hurricane Center:

- WHAT… Heat index values ranging from 105 to 110.
- WHERE… Portions of southeast, southern and southwest Florida.
- WHEN… From 11 AM this morning to 7 PM EDT this evening.
- IMPACTS… Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses to occur.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances.
Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
