BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The number of people potentially violating federal law by bringing their dogs into restaurants and supermarkets in Boca Raton, Delray Beach, and Boynton Beach grew significantly over the past several days, with scores of readers submitting nominations for our “Boca Rudeton” distinction.
It was a close vote this week, with the top spot going to the couple above. The man and woman apparently felt it necessary to bring their dog to the Original Pancake House in Boca Raton. For reasons that may never be clear, the couple didn’t just bring the dog, but carried a playpen for the dog, apparently believing it’s a child. We do not currently have sponsorships from the online psychologist services, but perhaps we’ll do a deal with this promotion: if you bring your dog in a stroller or playpen to a restaurant, supermarket, or mall, you receive an hour of free counseling. We’ll let you know if that works out. It was not clear why Original Pancake House apparently violated federal law by permitting the animal in the restaurant.

Speaking of… our runner up is this woman who apparently felt it necessary to go to the food court at Boca Raton Town Center Mall with her dog. Again, let’s say that one out loud. Dog. Food Court. Mall. Now let’s ask a question. Why? We remind our readers that the mall is a mall. It’s not a dog park. This is why people like Amazon.com. You don’t need to be with people who, well, bring their dogs to the mall.

Also notable over the past few days: the man carrying his dog at “The Boys” in Delray Beach. While the tee-shirt is somewhat concerning, the dog dangling in a bag is our focus. Why is the dog anywhere near exposed food? And more importantly, why is the dog even in the market?

We now move on to Joseph’s Market in Delray Beach where again, a woman seemingly felt it necessary to bring her pooch into the store. There’s lots of exposed food in Joseph’s. We are shocked that the market potentially violated federal law to permit this animal inside. We’ll let you know if we hear of fines from either the FDA or Palm Beach County health inspectors.

And we wrap up this edition of Boca Rudeton with a quick visit to the Publix on West Palmetto Park Road in West Boca Raton. Again, simple words. Woman. Dog. Exposed food. Why? We note that Publix continues to be non-responsive to our requests for explanation as to why the chain has signs stating it’s a federal law violation to bring a dog inside, yet people do it all the time as managers look the other way.
We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place. Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here! Send your submissions to us using the form, below.
