It’s the first day of school in Broward, while in Palm Beach County, police are preparing a massive enforcement operation to ensure drivers aren’t speeding through school zones.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office announcing on Sunday that an enforcement operation will be ongoing for much of the week. Operation “Safe Kids” will “identify high-risk areas for traffic crashes, pedestrian and bicycle accidents, and traffic violations within our jurisdiction. Motor deputies will issue warnings, citations, and educational messages in these identified areas,” according to a spokesperson providing details to BocaNewsNow.com.
In Broward County, expect the Broward Sheriff’s Office to be monitoring school zones across the county.
Broward is the last of the big three school districts in South Florida to start school for the 2023-2024 school year. Private schools are still slowly returning, with the school year for most starting by Labor Day.
