BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School District — as of Tuesday evening — is set to operate normally on Wednesday. While it may be a windy and rainy day, conditions are not expected to impact school bus operation. Additionally, Palm Beach County is offering guidance for storm-related issues. PBC issued this advisory:
Palm Beach County’s Division of Emergency Management is currently monitoring Hurricane Idalia. The county is not currently under any watches or warnings, but our area could experience heavy rains and wind gusts similar to a stormy summer afternoon in South Florida.
Palm Beach County encourages residents to always have a plan, build a kit, get involved and be informed. It is not too late to get ready for the rest of this season. Palm Beach County just entered what is considered the peak of hurricane season for our area.
Now is a great time for you to take advantage of the Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, which lasts until Friday, September 8. To get tips on building your kit and what items are on the tax-free list, check here: http://FloridaRevenue.com/DisasterPrep. Palm Beach County will continue to monitor the storm and will take action immediately if the situation changes or our community is threatened. For more information on how you can be prepared for hazards that can affect our community year round, check out our comprehensive website at ReadyPBC.com.
