BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Woodfield Country Club resident is facing a robbery charge after he allegedly entered the home of someone who appears to be his ex-“fling” and took her phone — then unblocked himself from her blocked contact list.
According to an arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Christopher John Girard, 33, of the 5800 block of Windsor Court in Boca Raton and the alleged female victim were not in a relationship but “had been intimate with each other as recently as a few days ago. “(The victim) does not consider them to be (in a romantic relationship),” wrote police. “But (Christopher Girard) does.”
The following is directly from the police report: “Despite (the alleged victim) adamantly telling him to stay away from her house, (Christopher Girard) proceeded to exit his vehicle, walked directly to her doorstep, and used the key to her residence that was already in his possession to unlock and open the front door. As he proceeded to enter the residence, (the alleged victim) instantaneously met him at the door and unsuccessfully attempted to push him back outside. The Defendant was un-phased by her efforts to stop him from entering her home, and was able to overpower her by pushing past her, causing her to fall backward, and hit the back of her head on an object that was on the ground after tripping over the foot of her couch. (The alleged victim) stated that immediately upon entering her residence, (Girard) grabbed her phone from out of her hand and began searching its contents, without her authorization. He then proceeded into her bedroom with her phone still in his.”possession, and threw a glass candle holder on the ground, causing it to break and shatter.”
“After further argument and pleading for him to leave her residence, the Defendant walked outside, got back in his vehicle, and drove away with her phone still in his possession. The Defendant returned approximately 5 minutes later with her phone in hand. (The alleged victim) demanded he return her phone to her, at which time he threw it on her front lawn and drove away. Upon further inspection, (the alleged victim) stated the Defendant appeared to unblock himself from her phone as well as from her various social media sites stored on this same device. Prior to PBSO arrival on scene, (the victim) observed the Defendant drive past her house multiple times. Upon my arrival at the scene of her residence, (at approximately 10:15 hours), and throughout the remainder of my time on scene, the Defendant made numerous and continuous harassing phone calls to the victim in addition to repeatedly sending her text messages from various phone numbers, all of which was captured and recorded on BWC. The (alleged) victim expressed feeling in great fear for her safety during the afore-described incident with the Defendant, as well as for concerns over her future safety. She further expressed feeling intimidated by the Defendant as a result of his harassing, forceful and physically aggressive actions against her, as described above.”
Christopher John Girard was arrested and booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on a charge of robbery without a firearm. He was later released on $5,000 bond. A court date is pending.
