Renaissance Charter Schools Also Announce Closure.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — All public schools in Broward County are closed Thursday due to the ongoing rain issues that are impacting the region. Broward County School Officials issued this statement late Wednesday evening:
“Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) Superintendent and staff have maintained constant communication with emergency management officials throughout the day in monitoring the continuous rain and potential flooding in our area.
To ensure the safety of students and staff, all District schools and administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, November 16, 2023. All before and after-school activities, events, field trips, sporting events, scheduled meetings, planned night events and evening classes are also canceled.
BCPS thanks all its employees, especially our maintenance and facilities personnel, who will be canvassing schools to assess if any campuses experience water intrusions or other damages.
If make-up days are needed due to this closure, the District will work to communicate information to families as soon as possible.”
UPDATE 5 a.m. Thursday: Renaissance Charter Schools is closing several schools and issued this advisory: Due to continuing rain and potential flooding in our area, the following schools are closed on Thursday, November 16. All before and after school activities, field trips and events are also canceled.
The following charter schools are affected:
• Coral Springs Charter School
• Hollywood Academy of Arts & Science
• North Broward Academy of Excellence
• Renaissance Charter School at Cooper City
• Renaissance Charter School at Coral Springs
• Renaissance Charter Schools at Pines
• Renaissance Charter School at Plantation
• Renaissance Charter School at University
Public Schools in Palm Beach County are open Thursday, as of 5 a.m. Thursday.
