Why does this woman have a dog in Fresh Market on Military Trail? We don’t know. We do know that she’s our Boca Rudeton winner for Friday.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — We don’t know if the woman in the photo above is a resident, a snowbird, or just a visitor to the Fresh Market on Military Trail, but we do know she is our latest Boca Rudeton winner. Even though Publix is doing an admirable job telling selfish, self-absorbed shoppers that the need to leave their pets at home, Fresh Market — inexplicably — is still letting shoppers break the law.

This woman was seen earlier this week by a shopper who correctly asks why she needs a dog in a supermarket. The answer: she doesn’t. Pets are not allowed in supermarkets, where food is in the open, under Federal and Florida laws.

With Snowbirds incoming from places like New York, especially this holiday week, we remind our readers that we don’t discriminate. We don’t care if the shopper with a dog, or otherwise behaving rudely, is from Boca Raton or Brighton Beach. We don’t care if they’re from Delray Beach or Long Island Sound. We do care that they are being rude, and we always appreciate your photos.

Woman with dog in Fresh Market: you are the winner of the Boca Rudeton! While we don’t truly have prizes, someday perhaps we’ll send the BocaNewsNow guide to being a good citizen. Until then, you’ll just have this article to frame.

We remind our readers that there is no expectation of privacy in a public place, Don’t want to be seen here? Don’t be rude here. Leave your comments below. Send us your images by using the “Animals In Stores” link above. Boca Rudeton™ is a trademark of MetroDesk Media, LLC. Rude people are a trademark of South Palm Beach County.

    1. Put her in Jail The Law is the Law I am going to make a Citizens Arrest on this person ” to the Public Citizens of Boca Raton please forward her name and Address to me

  1. Wish I had pics, but spotted a lady with her dog in the Boca Publix near Camino Real. Why is Publix not enforcing their own rule? Also went to Target in Deerfield on Hillsboro and same issue. Dog is inside the cart seat.

  2. I love dogs and cats and all sorts of animals, but the grocery store is not a place to bring them. They lick and sniff, and possibly pee in the store. They leave behind fur and dandruff that other people could be allergic to. If the mood hits them could become aggressive. I don’t care leave your dog home.

    Yes

  3. So much sadness in the world you complain about dogs in public places. In Europe dogs are allowed everywhere. Putting up photos of senior citizens who are probably lonely except for their fur companions is also cruel and mean spirited. Last year you even put up a photo of someone who had just lost their spouse. You are all bullies. . Shame on you.

      1. Joseph, this person who goes by “Judy”, “snoopy” and all her other fake names, loves to comment the same thing on all the dog posts. I’m pretty sure she was caught and her picture is somewhere on Boca Rudeton. She comes on here all the time to try and justify why she should be able to bring her dog everywhere. She loves to deflect by bringing up how life is Europe and call us all bullies. The truth is, she isn’t a law abiding citizen and makes excuses for everything in her life.

    1. I don’t understand why people think it’s ok to bring their dog into a store that sells open produce and food. I own a dog, love animals, but would never. Extremely rude and against the law. Your dog will be ok left alone for the time it takes to grocery shop.

  4. The day is coming when one of those “precious” yappy dogs WILL bite someone in public with witnesses. If it’s me, I’m planning on BUYING the Publix chain because their settlement won’t make up for the PITA incurred by these wannabe Lovey Howells in their states of dementia…
