BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A reminder to parents wishing it’s not true: Palm Beach County Schools are now closed through November 26th. School reopens on November 27th. The reason: it’s the Thanksgiving Holiday, and in Palm Beach County, schools close for the entire week. Pine Crest and St. Andrew’s are also closed. American Heritage remains open through Tuesday.
In Broward County, the Broward County School District is closed for the entire week as is North Broward Prep.
In MIami-Dade, the Miami-Dade County School District is also closed for the entire week.
Back in Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County School District resumes on November 28th and then continues through December 22nd. There is no school the week of December 25th and the week of January 1st. Monday, January 8th is a teacher in-service days as teachers clearly need a day to remember how to work after such a long break. Students return to school on January 9th, 2024.

“As teachers clearly need a day to remember how to work after such a long break” Yup! Because teachers are nothing but babysitters, right? No wonder they are all leaving the profession in droves. Let the shortages continue, these week-long breaks are light work, I promise.
To the author: Did you create an extra day off for us on Monday, Nov 27th? Perhaps you can come to my class and I can spend some of my oodles of free time teaching you how to read a calendar.
Perhaps we first need to teach you how to read.
