DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2023 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man apparently didn’t know that his electric vehicle was “on” Friday afternoon when it took off and crashed into bushes. He was inside the car at the time.

According to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue in a statement to BocaNewsNow.com: “At approximately 1656 hours PBCFR Units were dispatched to the 5000 block of Forsythia St. with Delray Fire Rescue units. Initial arriving units found one vehicle in the bushes with power lines exposed from a distribution box.

One victim was still in the vehicle upon unit’s arrival. FPL was notified and was able to respond and assist with securing the power. The victim was safely removed from the car without incident.”

Forsyth abuts Military Trail which, witnesses say, caused a significant backup during the evening rush. It is near the intersection of Military Trail and Linton Blvd.
